Findings of the Transportation and Child Care Task Force convened during the first half of 2019 under the premise that the lack of transportation and child care services are barriers to individuals accessing employment, health care, and mental health/addiction services. The task was to answer the question - Does Miami County have adequate 1) public transportation and 2) child care programs?

At some point in our history, trolleys on traction lines connected our communities. Is it time to examine our transportation issues in 2019 to see if there is a need for other changes ?

Do sufficient resources exist for parents to get to their jobs, medical appointments, recovery support meetings, etc.?
This task force was initiated to:
- Identify needs related to transportation and child care in Miami County.
- Recognize existing resources available to meet those needs.
- Develop a plan, to include action items and individuals/organizations willing to be accountable for the actions.
- Report our findings and plan to the community.
